Installing windows 7 (please help)

The Windows 7 cd will get it running, but you'll probably have to visit the Dell site once it's running and update a few drivers from the generics that come with Windows to gt it working at it's optimal performance.
 
Download the Win7 USB Tool from this page. It's use is simple to understand. You will need a Win7 installation ISO file on your HDD. Create the ISO file from your installation disc using some tool (I think 7zip can do that).

Check the ISO size before buying the stick. The 4 GB sticks are actually less (3.8GB IIRC). Better buy an 8 GB stick if you are not sure. The installation is the same as with the DVD, just faster. Remember to boot from USB.
