The problem is whenever I try to do a clean install of windows it loads the drivers and when "starting windows..." i get a session5_initialization_failed stop error. I'm thinking its because of the ata 100, I tried disabeling udma in the bios and put all drives to pio4 but still no luck. I know the motherboard works because I have another drive with windows already loaded using a k7tpro and it runs fine, I want the do a clean install on the new faster drive because i need the older drive.
I searched the site and found some stuf on orangedelta but there is nothing on a clean install.
One more thing should I partition and format the drive before I install win2000 or let it do it itself, cause I tried both ways.

any ideas

thanks

I just built a system with the MSI Pro2A using WIN98 and then upgraded to WIN2K. Had no problems...

How about this question, should I partition and format the drive using win 98 startup disk and then install win2k or delete all partitions and let win2k partition the drive if thats possible?
thanks

I received the same error message when I changed my bios to the overclockers bios. I never did figure out why. I suspect it may have been a poor bios flash. I immediately went back to bios 2.0 and the problem disappeared.
