Installing Win98SE over Win98

Can I do this and if I can is it worth it and how do I keep all my existing windows system files for my programs and games after the installation.

Just run the setup and it will upgrade over the top of your current windows and you will keep all of your program files. If you ever wanna go back you can do that to by going into the add/remove programs

Sometimes it works out just fine and sometimes you end up with a buggy OS and end up formatting and doing a clean install. It can't hurt to try first. If your install of 98 is good now and you are concerned about having to formating and mess with something that is not broken, get yourself Norton Ghost and a second hard drive and image that baby in full.

This has saved me many times and when I want to mess, I can always go back.

Clean install is the best. But if you can't make sure you get the upgrade disk.🙂 If you have two HD dual boot.

I've done that lots of times and it works fine. I have the full 98 version and the upgrade se version. Just run an advanced scandisk then pop in the 98se cd and thats it.
