Disable the Gigabyte/JMicron PATA/SATA controller and pull half the RAM. That may do the trick.

Now I am getting the bootmgr missing first thing. I cannot get a cd to run of anykind now. What has happened. I had xp running good and now buy a copy of Win 7 and try to do a clean install and it screws it all up. Now that I picked custom install and it got to 16% and then locked up. I guess I should have installed it and left xp on it for a backup. I keep reading how to fix this bootmgr and do not understand what to do if I have nothing on the HDD. Below is my new build.

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

I do not give up easy but this has beat the heck out of me. I took a while to get xp on this new system and decided to go with 7 but it has bit me in the ass.
Thanks for any help I can get.
