Ok, 2 drives, IDE Maxtor, SATA Seagate.

IDE has 2 partitions, 26 + 2. WinXP is on the 26, i just made the 2 for testing purposes. PartitionMagic sees these as "Primary"

SATA has 3 partitions, 144 + 110 + 30. I want to install Win2k3 to the 30, PartitionMagic sees all 3 of these as "Logical" drives.

So my question is, can you install windows to a "Logical" drive?

I seem to break something everything I try. Ideas are appreciated.

Yeah, I installed W2K3 server on a bunch of RAID5 logical drives last week. Any current version of Windows should install to any partition... To test, just throw in the Windows install disk and see if it detects your desired partition as a valid installation target.

It gives me a Hardware Configuration Error warning when it tries to load 2k3 after running through the initial setup.

AMD VIA chipset, A8V-E Deluxe board if that makes any difference.
