I really want to format my hard drive and completely get rid of XP. So I torrented win2kpro last night and put it onto a cd using Alcohol. The file was supposed to be bootable, but it won't read everytime I start up. Also, when I put the disk in while XP is open, it says "The CD is of an older version of Windows. Setup functionalities on this CD will be disabled."

Any suggestions? Thanks.

even if you had a legal copy you couldnt install windows 2000 over top of XP, your only option is a clean install.

Yeah, why create problems for yourself... clean install is always the best. In this case, no choice.
