*shudders* It could be my computer... but I tried to downgrade my computer from XP to 2k for the reasons:

1. 3ds Max runs like a turtle, drags puter to a crawl
2. Maya does the same
3. Visual Studio .NET hates XP :p
4. TOO UNSTABLE!!

only problem is when i tried to put in the setup disk for win2k to re partition and reformat ... it freezes while running NTDETECT.COM...No other bootdisks work as well. I do have the Win2k CD but its not bootable? Doesn't have boot information... My bios is setup correctly, etc. I tried www.bootdisk.com ... and got bootdisks from w0rm but they don't work for me... Can anyone help me? or does anyone have the win2k cd boot information? I believe u can extract the boot information from the CDs by using WinISO... its a shareware. :D

Thanks for your support

How come the Win2k cd is not bootable?, is it an manufacturers copy?? I thought even the upgrade was bootable.

Anyways....Have you not go a friend/colleague who has win2k and wouldn't mind you making some replacement boot disks on their machine?

And on the XP front....my system hated it and crashes all the time, we installed it on a similar age laptop at work....runs superb...so XP is just a bit picky I think.
