I want to install win2k AS on my old pc but in bios i can only change the boot sequence between Floppy and HD. So how can i install win2k AS without the cdrom boot sequence?

I love those requirements--try actually doing anything on a 133 running AS

😀

Maybe with a 15k scsi drive & 1 gig of ram it would be bearable.😉

LOL...that I would like to see: a P133 with a few 15k rpm scsis in RAID-5 and a gig or more of ram

😉

don't hose things masx out at 256MB of RAM?

Win2k AS will be bearable on that p133, as long as you're not trying to do anything really intensive on it, but I wouldn't want to see what it'd be like with IIS, ISA Server, Exchange, and SQL Server running on it. 😉

It will install with 64 MB of ram. Ran prety nicely on my p166 mmx 😉

Maybe Win2k PRO But not advanced server, this one needs 128megs minimum, read my earlier link.

You can do it, you just have to cheat a little. 😉 This is how I installed it on a P166 w/ 64MB:

Put in 128 MB RAM (IIRC, it won't let you install w/o it)
Install server (using boot disks if necessary)
After setup is complete, shut down, remove the "extra" 64MB ram.
Boot up...startup is slow -- of course -- but it still runs. 😀

I only run one application, which I only have to power the machine up for once every other month, so it's just fine from a performance perspective.

LOL... a computer with a processor slower than that of the RAID Controller's processor! LOL

I installed w2k adv server on a p120 with 64 megs of ram no problem. you can install w2k as on 64 megs of ram. It'll be slow, but you can do it.
