I have a computer, that i had previously installed Win2K on it. I want to install Win Me now. However there is no unistal option in Win2k, you have to install over it. I tried and i got this message:
Setup can't run from windows 2000. Shut Down windows 2000. Restart computer using windows 95 or 98 and then run setup. Otherwise, start MS-DOS then run setup from MS-DOS command prompt.
One problem, i don't have win 95 or 98, this was a custom built pc and Win2k is the only OS on it.
I was wondering if anyone could help me do it from MS-DOS. I have no idea whatsoever how to start MS-DOS and how to run anything from it. So if anyone knows how and have the time to give me a step by step instruction, i would greatly appreciate it. if not, a link or anything that i could find this kind of information.
Thanks
one more thing, is the OS installed on the HD or the Motherboard, say i buy another motherboard and i use it with the same HD which i had Win2k installed on, will i have the option to install another OS or it is already installed on the HD, cause instead of going through all the trouble, i have a friend who wants my AsusA7v, so i would sell it to him and buy another one.
thanks for all the help and excuse me for my ignorance.😱
