Installing video drivers for laptop is a royal pain

installed vista 64 on laptop, trying to install nvidia driver, spent about 3 hours on this piece of crap.

even with custom INF's from laptopvideo2go, i still get "The system has not been modified." this is so frustrating!!!!!

seems like nvidia changed V64's 178.24 installer and broke all the inf modders from what i see. fuckers- i just wasted 3 hours of my life figuring this out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well use drivers that your laptop manufacturer provides. they are stale? join the club.

^ Thanks, but that's for ATI cards. I just ended up installing v 177.xx for my laptop. nvidia changed their installer and nv_disp.inf mods are a little different for 178.24 now from what i see. I wish they could just allow their drivers to be installed from their website straight to laptops. all this tinkering is really lame imo.
