Installing second hard drive

I just put in second hard drive to my desktop and it doesn't show up on My Computer menu.
It is recognized in BIOS and in device manager.

Is there something i need to do to let the computer recognize the hard drive?

Initialize & format the drive in Disk Management under device manager?
