The memory chips on my 4870 are getting a little too hot for my liking (90c) and after some testing the back of the chips are too hot to touch so im thinking of putting some thermalright memory heatsinks on the rear of the memory chips (back of the card) that i have sitting around but i have a few questions

Will these sinks cause any problems?, like a chance of short circuit?

How many degrees reduction in tempreture am i looking at?

Why would you want to do that? Of course it could short something there and kill the card. If you want to make the ram cooler, buy an aftermarket heatsink and use the thermalright memory heatsinks in the "normal" kind of way ( on the ram chips).
