how do i do it? i just bought this machine, and wanted to install the ram myself, and i can't find how to even open the machine.
 
on the back i think there is a button thing that u slide down on mine at least there is. im guessin u know how to install it tho. If not well there is a chip that looks like the one in ur hand. open the flap things and then put the ram in the plug in thing. then put the flaps back over 😛 ^^
 
Usually it's a cover on the back. Sometimes it's under the keyboard.

Go to Dell's website, support section, enter your Service Tag and download the service manual.

WARNING: Laptops can be VERY fussy about RAM. Don't experiment. Order it from Corsair.com or Crucial.com and use they're online database to look up the proper memory module for your exact laptop.
