OK, I'll show my ignorance here...

Hardware I understand... software and programming, well... :'(

I'm trying to install RealTemp in my new build from the downloaded zip file so it will run at startup... and I can't figure it out. I'm also having the same problem installing some of the Dell drivers on my upgraded laptop (installed new, clean HDD yesterday w/XP.) Most of the drivers installed fine, but there are some leftover files I don't recognize.

Is there an online resource somewhere that explains n00b 101 stuff like this? ...rather than boring you guys with this? o_O

You mean like you can't figure out how-to extract the zip file and run the program(or installer thats inside the folder the extraction process created? or You just cant figure out how-to configure the program itself?

As far as the drivers and what not, gotta tell us what you don't recognize or you can just google the filename of what is running...

Manual.... no not that I know of, most of what I know I've learned from personal experiences, lurking forums, tech news/magazines, or google.

You might try ZipInstaller--I've been using it for several years on XP, Vista, and Windows 7:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/zipinst.html

"The ZipInstaller utility installs and uninstalls applications and utilities that do not provide an internal installation program. It automatically extracts all files from the Zip file, copies them to the destination folder you select, creates shortcuts in the start menu and in your desktop, and adds an uninstall module to allow you to automatically remove the software in the future."
