i installed the drivers that came with my 6600gt (77.77 i think), and now i want to install the newest ones (81.98?)

i read some other posts and people uninstalled the old drivers and stuff, but i don't want to do that unless it is completely necessary

so if anyone could point me in the right direction.

do i need to uninstall my old drivers before installing new ones and if so how do i unistall them?

thanks :)

Personally I believe its good practice to uninstall your current video drivers before upgrading to the next release. It takes almost no time and could save you a headache.

Add/Remove programs... Video driver will be listed

Just go to add/remove programs icon in Control Panel, select Nvidia drivers and remove the Nvidia display drivers, after reboot back to normal desktop ,install the new Nvidia drivers ,not hard.

You don't need to go to safe mode or use Driver Cleaner.
