Installing non-factory sized speakers in a car...

Okay, so say the factory speakers that are in the front of my car are 4x6s, but I want to install some 3.25s I have...how would I go about doing this...isn't there something that lets you install different size speakers than the factory models in your car? I'm totally blanking on the name of it though.
 
Adapter bracket!!! man that was bothering me...but it appears they only exist for going from 6x9 to 5.25 or 4x6 to 4...
 
Yeah they should. I think they are called 'baffles'. I ended up making my own using a jigsaw and some MDF in my Mazda6.
 
Easiest way is just take a piece of 1/8" Luan Plywood .. cut an opening in it to fit your new speaker and drill mounting holes to match the existing holes on the car to mount it to.
