Installing New RAM in Laptop

Alright so I got in on one of the hot deals for ram this week, now i gotta install it.

I already searched the forums (as best i can) so please don't say that.

Now for the questions...

1. When I put in the new sticks, is that all I do? I don't need to do anything afterwards? I've build systems before but I've never upgraded RAM in an existing system so I don't know if there's anything different...
2. Anything I should know I might not thing of asking about?

TIA ATers.

EDIT; should I change my page file size?

Just put in the new sticks (make sure its compatible with the old ram sticks or take the old ones out) windows should boot showing the new correct value with no updates ect.

alright thanks. anything to ensure the new sticks are perfectly fine? am i correct in thinking memtest is the correct program for this? is there any program i could use without making a bootdisk?

Windows will do the swap file automatically.

Just chill.

Enjoy the experience of looking at the memory count go higher than it has ever gone before at the first screen.

At most, your system might say that there is a difference in the hardware from the last time, press F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup - or something like that, just continue.

Let us know how it goes, and well done for doing it yourself.
