Ok simple question. What is the best way to install newer Nvidia drivers. When i just upgrade it doesnt seem to take. some people say to unstall drivers then hardware and then resinstall from scratch, so anway I want to use the D4's when asap. thanx all.

just follow the readme included in the nvidia drivers. uninstall the old drivers (go to control panel, remove programs, nvidia drivers). change your adapter to standard display (vga). then reboot, and when windows prompts you, select the location of the new drivers, and you're done.

I use detonators all the time. So, I firstly change my Video setup to the standard Generic VGA drivers that come with Windows. I then reboot. I then do a search for all files within my C:\Windows directory using wildcards and search for all files like so. "nv*.*"

I then delete them all.

I then unpack the new nvidia drivers to a temporary directory and install them through the display properties method, and point windows to the temporary directory for the updated drivers. Windows then does it's thang and there you go. U could use the Uninstall drivers in the "Add/Remove Programs" which I suppose does exactly the same thing.

That reminds me. i must try he 14.70's that were released the other day.

Is all that necessary? I usually just go to the device manager and video card properties. Then I click on Update Driver and select the new one. The new files copy right over the old files.

Don't you have the choice (at least on Nvidia's site) to pick self-extracting drivers? That is what I would do if you want to make it as easy as possible.
