installing new mobo/processor on XP

will i have to reinstall windows or what? i'll be going from a 650 mhz athlon to an athlon XP 2100 or so, what problems will i encounter?

AMD recommends a clean installation when you are upgrading to an XP processor. This is mainly so SSE will be addressed properly. However I have seen other members state differently, so I gather that YMMV.

What John states is true..its a YMMV op..what mobo to what mobo..?

im sure you are going to need to reinstall windows again, but go ahead and try the XP processor in the board first. worst it could do is give you a BSOD.
