installing new mobo/cpu but with same HD with xp - how to avoid reinstall and have xp detect new hardware

basically, i have my setup working right now. i am about to replace my mobo and cpu only with the HD having xp and all the programs. I dont' want to reinstall everything and would like XP to just detect the new cpu and other hardware (including new onboard video card). whats the best way of doing this? simply pick repair partition when I put the XP cd in ? thanks!
