Installing new gigabyte mb but have no video output

new gigabyte 7vt600p-rz socket a. in older case. new memory, 80gig hd, s3 video card agp.

The fans run,hard drives run, cd rom runs, but no video. tried another video card known to work. same results. gigabyte tech support suspects the amd cpu.

No speaker beeps on Startup

any ideas?

Are you using one of the mystery CPUs from the other thread?

You can verify if its the CPU by removing the ram and firing up the system. You should hear a beep of some sort. If not, the CPU is dead. Try another working CPU.

I'm having the same issue. Athlon 950. Gigabyte 7vt600p-rz. Processor is on the compatibility list. Perhaps my cpu is a 133 FSB flavor, could this be possible? if so, would this be a problem?

also, what list of mystery CPUs?

Lights come on, CD drive moves in/out. No video, so I thought my wierd ATI 64MB DDR VIVO card was possibly not 4x. How the hell do you tell? Went out an bought a pci video card. still no video. Light on and stays on on floppy, power, and HD. I have no internal speaker, so can't test mobo beep. (no onboard buzzer).

any thoughts. I thought that since I have only a USB keyboard that would be a problem, but I can't even get any video, so...

Took my computer back to the local shop where I got the mobo and memory.

Turns out it was a bad stick of DDR RAM. Their bad. They replaced it. My ATI AGP card works fine with this mobo.
