Hey guys, I'm about to upgrade my graphics card in the next month or so (along with a PSU and a CPU) and was wondering, how do I uninstall my old graphics card from my HD? Can't seem to find a site or video explaining how to...

Are you using an integrated video card? You should be able to go into the add/remove programs list and click on unistall. That should remove any drivers and programs installed on your hd.

hardware wise, you just detach it from the mobo... lol

software wise, all you have to do is to uninstall the driver. drivers are like any other programs so you should be able to find them in Program Files, Start Menu, or the Add/Remove Programs list inside control panel. you should be able to uninstall it from any of those choices.

That's why I asked if it was integrated. If it is it might be a little hard removing the card from the mb. hehe:eek:

lol no, youre absolutely right! thanks for pointing that out ahaha

but if its integrated, all you have to do is, again uninstall the driver from your pc. the other step is to go into your BIOS and changing the settings to run from PCI-e or whatnot :p

Doesnt the computer automatically detect that a discrete card is installed and switch to that automatically if you do a restart?? I dont know for sure, but I thought that usually this would happen without even going into the Bios. I have upgraded cards, but never added a card to take over from integrated, so I could be wrong.
