installing my Gforce 6800

I'm installing my 6800 to my P4 1.8 mobo and as soon as I turn the comp on it makes a whizzing noise and fails to load the bios. what can be done to solve this? thanks

What card did you have before and if it was not a nvidia did you uninstall the drivers first?
Did you connect a molex power plug to the power adapter on the card?
What size power supply do you have?

This sounds like a power issue to me. I forgot to connect the molex one and my cards fans would start and then die a couple seconds later. What PSU do you have it might be too small and is that a GT or NU.

And just to let you know you will be serverly bottlenecked by that CPU.
