Installing monitor drivers problem

I'm trying to manually install my monitor drivers because XP just picks it up as a Plug and Play monitor. Now when I try to update the standard PnP driver, it won't let me use my monitor one that I downloaded from NEC's site, and when I remove it and don't scan for changes, goto manually add hardware, I cannot add a monitor. Anyone have any hints for getting these installed?

Wondering if the ghosting I am getting in games has something to do with drivers...?

Dude, don't worry about if XP detects the monitor as Plug and Play. It's the same damn thing .

Try booting into safe mode and uninstalling the drivers there. Then reboot and see if you can install the drivers then.
