Installing Modern Games i.e. ( CoD 4 ) in a Linux Distro ???

Hi ,

I havent used Linux for a very long time , and wondered can you run all or most of the modern PC Games in a Distro Like , Ubuntu - Fedora or Mandriva etc ?

I usually Play games like Battlefield , CoD4 , UT3 etc . .

Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes the the answer is partly, often times the answer is no.

Check there. If the listings say that the games with all the latest updates / features play well under the latest version of WINE/LINUX, you're in luck. Otherwise, I'd assume they're not going to work well or at all.

UT3 has a LINUX version *promised* for eventual release, but they're already 9 months late with releasing it, so it may be a few more months. Once it is released it should work basically perfectly since it is being ported to LINUX specifically. UT2004, and the older Unreal titles all generally work well under LINUX.

ETQW has a LINUX version.

Versions of DOOM, QUAKE, NWN, et. al. all work well.
