I just got another HD today cause i needed the space. i was plannin on installin Linux On it again its been a while. I went and created a Linux Partition with Partition Magic Pro 7 so it should all be good. the problim is i cant get the lunix Cds i have to install. Tryin Red Hat 7.2. If I put on in in windows it wont autorun even tho its supposed to. and i can t boot from CD because my computer dosent boot if a CD is in the drive. Dont know why this is my computer has its quirks. anyome know anything that might help me out.
 
Make sure the md5sums match up fine, and make a boot floppy if you need to. You may want to get your mobo checked out though...
 
the reason it dosent boot from CD has somethin to do with teh promise IDE card i have it wont boot it there is a cd in teh drive..
How do i go abut makin a boot disk????

Use rawrite or something to put the floppy image on a floppy disk.
 
yea tha page explains it well enuff the only problim is that the boot.img file is 1.4 meg and every flopy i have only holds 1.38. ive tried reformating them all to no avail. kinda startin to get pissed

Does rawrite give you errors? Copying the file onto the floppy wont work.

rawrite should extend it over 2 floppies
