Kidcool321:

Recently, I have tried installing a number (probably 6 or 7) of Linux distributions in an effort to find one that I thought was good and useable.

What I wound up finding out was that to my way of thinking, none of the versions that I tried will do all of the things I can do in Windows nowhere as easily as they can be done in Windows and there are somethings that I found that can not be done at all without buying some type of add-on software. I know this software/linux is basically free but please remember the old saying, you get what you pay for !!! I know there will be hoots & crys, saying I don't know what I am talking about, so if you want to try them for yourself just do a google search on "Linux Live CD" or just try this site link

Of the ones that I tried I would recommend that you try SUSE linux version 10 released and second I would recommend that you try Ubuntu. I would recommend that you go to Novell's site to get the download images for burning the SUSE linux.

I hope you have a lot of time to invest in this effort.

Good luck.
