i dont have a burner, so i've never had to deal with iso files yet, but i just downloaded mandrake 8.0 in iso format. how do i extract it in order to use it? thanks

thanks, i did a search on google and found it. I downloaded it and am extracting that file right now. thanks alot😀

ok now, i realized that linux probably cant install from my ntfs filesystem, right? i have no burner, and not even a cd drive (i will in a few days), so how do i go about installing it???

No, I don't think Linux will read NTFS. Do you have any Fat16 or Fat32 partitions? If not, can you create one? Then you could just install straight off of the hard drive.

If you're still looking for a way to install without a CD drive, there is probably a network install option. Go find the floppy image file from the distro site, put it on and boot the floppy, and you can install over a modem or broadband.
