Question Installing Linux on Android tablet

Hello all, I have been cleaning out my old electronics, and I came across a Galaxy 2 10.1 tablet. This tablet is most likely 12+ years old. It still boots up and connects to the WIFI just fine. I want to see about putting Ubuntu Linux on it. That seems to be the version that most of my searches seem to say is the best distro. Thing is, I have the USB cable, and the Samsung USB drivers, Keis, and SmartSwitch, and the Tablet does not show up. I keep looking for the MTB setting as instructed, but I cannot find it. Maybe this tablet is too old, but I am not giving up until I have exhausted all avenues of possibilities. Any suggestions or insights are welcome. I just hate to throw out a functioning tablet. Of if anyone can offer suggestions on using the screen for a raspberry PI project, I am also open to tearing into the tablet to utilize the touchscreen for that.

Any and all suggestion, insights, comments, are welcome.
