Installing Kubuntu on my Thinkpad A30

I've rarely used my Thinkpad A30 so I decided to I will install Kubuntu on it for kicks.
I've downloaded the latest DVD ISO and started the install procedure already.

Anyone have experience with linux on A-series Thinkpads? Any advice or anything I need to do immediately after the install is appreciated. Hopefully all of the devices will work.

Best thing for you is probably to just dive in. Pick a single task at a time you want to accomplish (such as "I want to play music"), then try it and google around if you have problems. THEN, post back here when you have a specific problem.

Thanks, the install went smooth, now I'm researching my Linksys wireless card (WPC54GS) for linux drivers.

Well, a quick note then: I believe you need the madwifi drivers for that card - "apt-get install madwifi" should get it for you.

Hope it goes well! Be sure to ask questions on www.ubuntuforums.org as they are VERY active and VERY helpful. Also for just general programs , a lot of the information on www.ubuntuguide.org can still be used for Breezy even though it was written for Hoary
