Installing Heatsink

Hey yall,

Im currently puttin togeather my first computer. Asus A7A266 w/1.2 ghz athlon 266. I'm up to the part where i install my heatsink on the chip and i was wondering if its supposed to be really hard to push the clip down on the side to latch on, wanted to check cause i dont want to break anything.

yes it is really hard. you might try bending the clip a little, but not too much. and ues a screw driver and be careful not to slip up and jam the screwdriver into the mb.

I appreciate the extremely quick response. I am now able to get the clip down far enough to latch on, but it seems to be too close to the socket and not close enough to the actual latch. Is that what you meant about bending it a little so it can actually fit "over" the latch?
