Hi,
Quick question about installing a hard drive. Is it better to put 2 items on one ide cable or if you have multiple ide cables use one for each? Also, what is the "cable select" setting for the jumpers? The last hard drive I got had just master and slave. Is there any advantage or disadvatage to using this method?
Thx.

Usually it's better to have drives on separate IDE channels (read: cables) as they don't have to share resources. I believe cable select is not widely used anymore.

Cable select means the drive determines if it's the master or slave by where it's at on the cable. The end connector is the master, the middle the slave.
