I installed Half Life 2 on one of my computers and now want to install it on another one I have so my brother and I can both play the Single Player on separate computers. There was a post that said you COULD do it but I haven't found one yet saying EXACTLY HOW to do it.

Could someone PLEASE help me with this. When I try to install it on my other computer I can't use the same CD key since it's associated with a steam account already. I tried signing on the other computer with the same account and it said I already had that key associated with that account.

If someone could PLEASE give me step by step instructions I would be VERY GRATEFUL. Thanks

try gamecopyworld.com

I think all that's involved is copying over your clientregistry file, then disabling the network interface and play offline.

I don't know what kind of steps I can tell you.

download steam on the second computer.
Logon using your steam email address and password.
steam will download all the games your're entitled to.
you can do this on any number of computers from any location.
However, you can only be ONLINE from one computer at a time.
To play from one account with multiple computers , you have to play in offline mode on LAN.

yep, this is the ticket. worked fine for me
we had 1 computer online (56k) and another on LAN running the same steam account
and you dont need a cd for each computer because they got rid of the securom checks in the last patch

Ok, I figured it out. I was under the IMPRESSION that I needed to put the CD key in AGAIN. I didn't realize that the key was associated with the account and thought I had to put it in AGAIN. I was wrong.

DOH!!! LOL

I still think this steam is a pain in the butt.

You can actually set up your own LAN and play CS:S etc with just copy of the game you just have to enter your steam password in when ever you join a server.
