installing games!

hi,
i just done a fresh install of windows 7 64bit because my medal of honor kept crashing during instaliation saying it couldnt find the files from the disk!
but now iv rebuilt my pc and the same thing happens! its also happening to crysis now, which i had installed before.
all of my steam games have installed fine but any help would be greatly appreciated.
iv had medal of honor for over a month now and not been able to play it and i cant find a solution anywhere!

So all the games you downloaded off steam work fine, but the ones that need a cd to install don't work. Have you tried a different cd-rom drive?
 
My friend had the same problem. No matter what, any game that had CD-type copy proteciton would never install correctly. He worked around it by installing it from his laptop over the network before he finally got a new drive. Otherwise, for plain files (ie: burned to a disk or something), it worked fine.

So, aside from buying a new DVD drive or trying another one, you can also see if your drive has updated firmware. Sometimes it's a firmware problem that prevents the drive from properly reading copy protected DVDs -- especially with some of the spoofing they do with various DRMs with fake sectors and such.

Edit: Re-reading your post, if it's happening more often or on disks that worked OK before, the drive probably is on it's way out.
