Well, I've finally become disenchanted with RC5 enough to bail and turn the rest of my MHz loose on ECCp. One of my boxes is a Windows2000 machine that is up 24/7 but often logged out. So I need to know what my best option is for running a client.

Should I install the SMP/service client (my box is single processor) from the ECCp site? Or is there a way to run an optimized client even while logged out?

Thanks for the info.

You can run the optimized client as a service using a program called FireDaemon

http://www.firedaemon.com

I think there are some good instructions out there somewhere but I forget where...
iirc, it was easy enough to do without the instructions.....

Another option is to run an optimized client as a screen saver. I have this setup on of of my most productive systems and it will run when logged out.

Th eprogram works best on Win2K and is a good option if you want the program to have minimal impact on the user.

Thanks for the info. I opted for firedaemon and it works really slick! Rather innovative utility. Just boosted my ECCp output by 50%
