Installing case lighting

When you install something like a cathode tube in a case... do you mount it to the top or bottom? any other installation things i should know?
 
Mount it where it gives you the most lighting. I actually have one on the bottom and one on the back side.
 
i have one along the bottom and one running up the back. it depends on where you wan the most light and how large your window is. put them where you can and see how much light it puts on whatever you are trying to accent. if you just want a general glo then really anywhere will work so long as they aren't covered by something.

If you have 3 led fans going on, will uv cold cathode work on the uv cables because of the brightness????
