Installing case Fans?

I am pretty new to the whole modding world, and have a quick question. I just bought a Intel® Desktop Board BOXD865GBFL mother board and it looks like there are only 2 plugs to install fans. My new case has multiple fans, do I need to splice the wires together to make all of them work or is there an other way to do it. Sorry If this is a dumb question, but I really dont know how. Thanks.

Do they have 4-pin Molex connectors? If they do, you can connect the fans straight to the powersupply. Welcome to the forums by the way! :)

Yes they are 4 pin connectors. When you say connect them to the power suppy, Does the power supply have additional plugs for them to be plugged into? Or do I need to open up the PS to connect them? Thanks again.

Well, it might be helpful to post which fans you want to install, and your powersupply :)

That particular fan comes with an adaptor to connect it to the Molex (4pin hard drive power supply) connector.

Plug the 3 pin fan connector to the 3 pin male connector on the adapter. Plug the 4 pin molex connector to a free molex connector coming from your power supply. Ignore the female connector with one wire, that is just there to connect to your motherboard for a speed sensor. If it is left disconnected, your fan will run at full speed.

The molex adapter will pass through so another device can be attached. (connect fan between power supply and hard drive)

If you don't have adaptors, you should be able to pick up some fan connector to molex adapters at a computer shop.

If your PSU does not have enough connectors, you can always buy y splitters and adaptors such as you see here.

The " 4-pin Y Cable Splitter" in partucular may be what you need.
