Installing Audigy (XP did not detect it)

After I finish installing all my core apps and drivers I plan to make a ghost image of this drive. Because of this I am hestitant to just start installing all types of patches and drivers to get xp to detect my soundcard (audigy platinum).

I am not exactly sure I can find the original install cd. What would be the reccomended procedure to do this correct the first time as to avoid clutter in a drive image later.
