ATI Multimedia Center 7.1
Posted July 5, 2001
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/misc/mmc71tvwonder.html
Run the installer, which places the drivers in "c:\TVWonderWDMDrivers".
The rest of the specific instructions are in the "MMC_7_1_TVWONDER.rtf" file, located in "C:\ATI\support\MMC_7_1_TVWONDER".
Pay attention to "REMEMBER....You must install the TV WONDER WDM drivers before Multimedia Center will function."
Note: newer versions of MMC, versions 7.5 & 7.6 are not supported by ATI.
These newer versions still depend on the device drivers which are included only with the version 7.1 MMC file listed above.

Alrite.. here's what I did, I downloaded the drivers above... then downloaded MMC 7.5, it's floating around the net everywhere.

You install the drivers, each part of the card will be picked up, Video XBar, Audio XBar etc...

Then you install MMC.

Although, be aware of this issue: ATI Supper: TV Wonder and Windows XP

I only use MMC for recording, which it does fine, otherwise, I use DScaler, which looks a lot nicer that MMC.

alright, i just tried to install it following those instructions..

everything installed..then i installed MMC..

restarted, and opened up the TV tunder, and it like lags a lot, took about 30 seconds for it to open up, then the setup wizard for the tuner took a long time too..when it go to step 3 where i had to autoscan for channels, it'd freeze up, so i can't auto scan for channels.so i just skip that step..and then everything is setup..the TV display shows up but the screen is just all messed up and there is no sound..and when i try to switch channels, it'd take like 10 seconds to change up 1 channel because it'd sort of freeze up..i tried doing the suggestion about the corrupt display issue from the ati site, and it still didnt' work...

any suggestions?

thanks

OK, i just tried to use DScaler, and when it loaded up, it showed that my tv card was the ati tv wonder, and then under tv tuner, it showed none..and i just realized when i installed my card..it never detected the "ATI TV Wonder TVTuner, Philips WDM TvTuner PAL BG", so i never installed that..and when i go to add new hardware and browse to the tvtunderwdm drivers directory and select atitvtutw.inf to install, it doesnt show up as any model or anything, so it wont let me install...

Here's what I did:

- Download MMC7.1, run it to unpack files to a folder.
- Don't run the setup file, instead go to the Control Panel and detect new hardware. Point the location to the folder. It should bring up 6-8 dialog boxes about various drivers not being digitally signed, click Continue anyway for all of them. Reboot.
- Install DScaler, choose Philips NTSC as the tuner if you are in the US. You might have to restart the program several times to get it working.
- For capturing I use iuVCR and Virtualdub. The DivX 5 codec was just released which does a good job of real-time capturing if your CPU is fast enough (1+ GHz).

Good luck

Chau - Make sure Audio Input in DScaler is set to Tuner. Other than that, I'm not sure, you might have to mess around with the settings. Virtualdub is freeware, I got it here. iuVCR is shareware with a 30-day trial (here), the only thing it does that Virtualdub can't do is capture in 640x480. They both record off the tuner.

For DScaler, you MUST set the audio to Mono, it has issues while trying to run in Stereo, do it by selecting the following Menus:

Hardware > MSP/Radio > Mono

That'll fix your problem.

need help...i have a ati ve (not the tv wonder) card. when i capture video using virtualdub, the picture comes out really dark. there's an option in virtualdub to set contrast, brightness, etc but it won't let me move the sliders. btw, dscaler is really nice alternative to the default app.
