Question Installing Application on SD Card

I am attempting to install some application on my windows tablet PC's SDcard. I have formatted the drive to use NTFS, but when I attempt to install to the d:\ drive, I am told that I cannot install on a non-local drive.

I went into storage settings and change the setting to save app to the D: drive, but it appears that only works with Microsoft Store app. Anyone encountered this issue and have a workaround?

SDCard is removable drive and usually is very slow.

You can only install portable applications that do not modify registries in many cases.

Like apps from https://PortableApps.com

Even if you managed to install normal software on SDCard, it's never recommended.
