installing aim on fedora core 6

Anyone know how to install Aim on fedora core 6? Is there alternative version of some kind of aim app that'll work with Fedora Core 6?

There a few frillion replacement clients for most chat protocols. Gaim, for instance, should do you nicely.

I use Gaim for windows, but the primary build is for linux so it should be good enough for you to use as a stopgap. As a plus, it supports a load of other protocols too!

one fedora core came with gaim, don't remember which one though.

fedora core 5 came with gaim and i think even another aim client

GAIM has a linux version, IIRC

Definitely give Gaim a try and don't forget to add in the plug-ins for some nice enhancements.
