So yeah, I heard that Fiesty came out yesterday and I had an extra PC sitting around doing nothing, so I figured I'd install it and give it a try.

Everything went smoothly, but now I'm trying to install/enable my old nVidia Quadro 280NVS. All the forums I've searched talk about different cards, and I was wonder what I could do?

If I use the restricted drivers utility, it doesn't allow me to get back into x (or whatever the GUI is called...)

Any ideas?

Just a word of warning: If you help me, you may be in for the long haul...took me 5 mins yesterday just looking for my MAC address :-/

Thanks for any help

I would go to ubuntuforums.org and post the question there. A lot of the developers frequent those forums and a lot of experts using feisty.

Figured it out...actually, the Quadro 280 NVS is covered with the new drivers. I had the PCI address of my video card set wrong (it was at default) but after that it's working great. The system (P3 Coppermine 1GHz, 512MB SDRAM) can't really handle Desktop Effects or Beryl, unless anybody knows of any tweaks I can do...

Which is why you shouldn't put it in there at all, unless you have multiple cards using the same driver and want different options for them there's no reason to specify the PCI address as X will find it just fine on it's own.
