Installing a new Vanta CPu fan

whats the easiest way to apply the paste to the cpu before dropping the fan on it?

Put a very small drop, put finger inside a plastic bag and smear it around. Then take the edge of a piece of Printer paper and even it out. Then just put the HSF on.
