Installing a new car deck.......

My bro drives a 98 Mazda Protege and recently his car deck won't play CDs anymore..tried cleaning it but still no go.

For his bday im planning on getting him a new deck...

how hard is it to install one of these things?

I dont want to have a shop do it cos im low on cash already..

Thanks!

its very easy. if you get the deck from crutchfield, they give you the wiring harness and complete instructions on how to get the dash apart to get it in.

if you get it from a local place, make sure you get the wiring harness. you match the wires from the harness to the deck and plug the other end into the car.

Pick one up at crutchfield, they give ya all the wiring harnesses and everything you need to do it right😀

Free install usually means they use an expensive labor saving back-to-back connector that will set you back $15 more in parts than necessary, so essentially you're paying $15 to have it installed.
