Installing a network printer on Netgear FM114P?

I am running a network using the Netgear FM114P wireless router with printer port. When attempting to install a printer to that port, and using the Netgear supplied software, the installation stalls.

The Netgear supplied software goes so far as to bring up a "Print Port Setup" window which then "Browsing devices by TCP/IP" looking for "compatible devices". However, "no device is found".

I believe what is SUPPOSED to happen is a tree (similar to hardware manager) should appear with the FM114P and below it the printer. But nothing.

The network consists only of a single computer attached via ethernet cable and a portable which uses the wireless connection. The FM114 attaches to a cable modem. This has all been working fine for several months. OS is XP Pro. The printer works when installed directly on the computer. Printer is an old Cannon BJ-100

Thanks,

Add print service for unix in (add/remove windows component) then create new printer using the LPR port, enter the ip address of your router/printserver then enter L1 as the que name. I recomend going this way instead of using the software included with your router.
Goodluck.
