Installing a DIMM

Hello everyone,

I'm getting a 1GB stick of DDR1 tomorrow. I already have a 512MB stick of Crucial DDR400, the 1GB is the same spec. My question is, which slot does it go in?

Will these 2 sticks be able to run in dual channel or not? And I'm right in thinking that if I can run them in dual channel, they would go in 2 slots the same colour? If they can't run in dual channel, do they need to go in different coloured DIMM slots or does it not matter?

Using an abit KN8 Ultra nf4 ultra chipset.

IIRC, it is installed in the one of the same color. Yes, it should run in dual-channel. And you should definitely find the manual for the mobo and consult it, as it has the most definitive answers.
