I've put my new 64mb ram geforce mx420 into the AGP slot. I've installed the drivers that I found on a nvidia page. Currently I have a inbuilt graphic card on 4mb ram(Intel(r)82815 graphics controler). How do I make the computer recognize and start using the new AGP card?
I'm using a compaq presario desktop 5310EA, and running windows XP home edition. Can someone explain how I change the BIOS setup and in Windows to start using the AGP card?
Here are my specs:

The answer is not the same for all systems...many systems with integrated graphics have a bios setting that allows you to disable it...on others there is none and it is not required...simply uninstall the current integrated graphics drivers...shut the system down...install new card...restart system..and install the drives when prompted upon bootup...I dont think you will have any problems. If there is not a bios setting to disable onboard vga and the above process gives you a problem..then from the device manager select the onboard vga device and disable it...then try the install process on the new agp card.

Also, make sure the AGP slot on your motherboard is not disabled in Windows. Something like that happened to me a whlie back.

*Bios* *Bios* *Bios*

you need to find your book to your computer (or your motherboard) and read about the settings, since its a compaq and not a paticular motherboard model/make most of us would be familiar with
