Installing 2 SATA Drives

Alright........this is what I've got going. I have a 20GB IDE drive running the operating system. Now I've got (2) SATA 250GB hard drives I'm going to hook up. I've got the ASUS motherboard with built in Raid control........so how do I go about doing this? I tried to set them up last night and my computer wouldn't boot past the bios startup screen. So I had to go into the bios and restore the default settings, then it booted up......but now my drives don't show up........so what do I have to do in the bios/OS to set these up in JBOD configuration.......also, do you think it would be a better idea to just get rid of the 20GB IDE and put the OS on the SATA? Would it be faster? If so, how do I move all my information from the 20GB drive to the SATA without losing everything? Thanks......

Yeah, I guess I could..............do I need a seperate raid controller card, or I've heard there is one built into my motherboard? But what do you think about the rest of my questions, about the OS and how do I set it up for raid 0. Especially with an IDE drive running the OS

Yes, your motherboard has built in RAID. Consult your motherboard manual to find out how to set up a RAID. Generally, the more capacity on a drive, the faster it is because of denser platters. You can use imaging software to copy the data from the 20GB drive to the SATA drive(s)/RAID. However, imaging software and RAID don't always mix well.

So you think it would be best to ditch the 20GB drive(maybe just use it as storage) and run raid 0 so Then I'd have (1) 500GB drive running raid 0, and then just install windows and my programs, games, and utilities on the Raid 0 drive?
