Hi

guys I just installed a Zalman 7000A (AL/CU) on my friends 2.4C and the temps changed only 1-2deg C, is this right ?
fanmate not connected to allow max fan speed
cpu running at 3.0, its was doing the same on the stock fan but I wanted to keep it cooler

please let me know what you guys think

Thank you
Dan

The intel coolers are pretty hefty. I would think the best way to lower it even more would be more case airflow. Then again, I don't know most of what I'm talking about.

Hi

Ive heard the 3ghz and up are because they have a copper core, do the 2.4-2.8 also have that ?
the case actually has 3 fans running but my room is pretty hot, when the comp goes to my friends place it should be cooler

Thanks
Dan

Hmm my 3 ghz (has the copper center) shot down 10 C with the zalman. I would suggest looking at your airflow.

well I wont say I was unlucky, my idle temps are around 30 (thats a 2.4 at 3ghz)
but with the stock it was close by, like 32-35

yes I agree, I was looking at this the wrong way
see with all other things being equal an upgrade should of changed things, but I didnt realize that zalman shows improvement mostly when the airflow is good
