Installed wrong bios

I installed the wrong bios (for another board) a few months ago but didn't notice anything until recently when the video started showing problems. I ran down all the other options and this stood out as the culprit.

Now that I found the correct one do I just flash it from CD as if it is new or do I need to replace the chip first?

Thanks,

You should be able to flash the correct one. Many BIOS flash processes allow for reversion or returning to the original BIOS, IOW, a copy was saved before the change.

agreed, flashing it back should be fine. I'm not even sure if you could (reasonably) replace the chip.

Yes, you can replace it if you have an EEPROM writer you can buy a blank and load the bios or pay one of the places online to do it for you
